Samuri West is an American singer-songwriter, engineer, producer, and entrepreneur based in Dayton, OH. From an early age, her deep love for music was nurtured by listening to gospel and old-school classics with her father—an influence that shaped her soulful, genre-blending sound. Drawing from jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul, funk, blues, and psychedelic rock, Samuri’s artistry is rich with emotion, authenticity, and timeless groove.

Her latest single, Bad Side, tells the story of chasing love even when it leads you to the wrong places. With raw lyricism and sultry melodies, the track is a testament to her ability to craft music that resonates. She is gearing up to release Callin' On You, featuring Dayton native C-Money Baby, further cementing her place as a force in the independent music scene.

Beyond her solo work, Samuri is one half of Soulective, a funk-inspired vocal group alongside Justina Clear. Together, they blend harmony and soul into an electrifying sound, with their debut single, Hood Rich, dropping this spring.

The duo is also joining original Parliament Funkadelic members in their resurgence project, SmoovTime, for a highly anticipated Fourth of July show in Daytona, FL. This will be Samuri's second summer touring with SmoovTime.
